'Kyleca' is home to Cath, Ken, Lyndsay and our beautiful family of bearded collies, not forgetting our honorary beardie 'Winston' a British shorthair cat and the infamous 'Phoebe' Lyndsay's lhasa who thinks she's a beardie too!

We all fell in love with this beautiful breed over 10 years ago when I decided to move on from my beloved horses - the ground seemed an awful lot further away as I matured in years!

I had always owned dogs from being very young and my first show dog was Ross, a blue roan cocker spaniel, Hallain Star Crown (out of Deneborne Delightful and by Bitcon Romeo). In the 1980s I took a big interest in gundogs and thought my heart would follow these breeds, I still take an avid interest in cockers and english springers and am looking forward to a couple of gundog judging appointments in 2008.

After getting married in 1986 and the arrival of our daughter Lyndsay in 1989, I was desperate to get back to my equine life. I spent the next few years breaking/schooling some youngsters and successfully competed at county level with a beautiful part-bred arab Lady Shar Bella (who spookily enough now lives just around the corner from the Burscoughs (Kilfinan Bearded Collies)) -what a small world! Lyndsay too successfully competed with her Welsh Section 'A' Brierdene Rosebud, of which we both have lots of very happy memories.

In 1998 we started searching for our first bearded collie. Sasha, Willowmead Spring Serenade at Kyleca, was bought from Suzanne Moorhouse, can't believe she is now 10 and has witnessed many events in our household, I am sure she could write a book!

And the rest they say is history!!!
